Two men, worlds and cultures apart, clash in their quest to control the most savage and inhospitable land on earth, Sarawak. James Brooke, a young English aristocrat grows up with dreams of fortunes to be made in the Far East. To realize his dream, James turns his back on a life of ease and comfort, breaks a promise to his father, renounces love, and through fate and the force of his indomitable will, finds himself in one of the most hostile and primitive environments on earth and face to face with Awang Api, a cruel and fiery Malay nobleman who wants Sarawak for himself.
