Seduce Me at Sunrise Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Seduce Me at Sunrise

Kev Merripen always loved Winnifred (Win) Hathaway but could not confess his feelings for her, though all changes when Dr. Julian Harrow sets on courting Win. Kev Merripen was rescued by the Hathaway family when he was a boy. He was a Romany boy who was abandon by his tribe after an ambush by farmers in the country side of England. Throughout his childhood, he and Winnifred (Win) had a special connection with one another. Win brought out the positive side of Kev: loyal, patience, and a true farmer. The Hathaway family saw Merripen as one of their own but agreed that he can leave whenever he sees fit because of his gypsy roots. As Roman traditions allowed he dare not to say his real name and the family started to call him Merripen.

When tragedy struck the Hathaway family with the scarlet fever, taking the Hathaway parents and almost taking Win. When Win was close to her deathbed she asked for Merripen's Roman name, he told her that it is Kev. She smiled and the next morning she got better. Leo, Hathaway's oldest brother, and Win agreed to go to France to get better, but she was unwilling to go without Merripen confessing his love to her. Merripen did not want to say that he loved Win because to him Win was a gem that he did not want to taint because of him. He refused but he always stayed next to the Hathaway family when Win left for France.

Three years later, Win and Leo came back to London. They became healthier and less fragile than before. They greeted Amelia and her husband Rohan, and the younger sister of Poppy and Beatrix and their Governance Catherine. Win was still pursuing Merripen but he kept denying the attraction to her and insisted that he only stayed to take care of the estate. Win does not believe him. Though Rohan and Merripen decided to go to a local gypsy camp in London and found out about their origin because they had the same tattoo on their arms and they had it since they can remember. Rohan and Merripen turns out to be brother's. Their father was a son of an Earl in Ireland and a Roman women. However, their marriage was torn apart by both families. Merripen was taken by his Uncle, who did not like his sister's choice in husband and Rohan was taken in by their grandmother intended not to meet every again.

When the Hathaway went back to their estate, Win saw how much the estate looks beautiful and it is thanks to Merripen's tireless effort to keep up with the estate. As Win tries to soften Merripen's hardness she finds out that Doctor Julian Harrow would be coming to visit. Win respects the Doctor for his kindness and the push that gave her to get better, though she could not forget about Merripen. The house prepares for his visit. Though when arrived it is found out that Doctor Julian Harrow came to court Win. Win still cannot forget about Merripen and at a secluded corner at a ball, they confess their love with another and kiss passionately. There was a witness and to ease a scandal, Doctor Julian Harrow said that it was really him that Win was kissing because they are engaged.

Win is not sure what to do, but decides that her heart belongs to Merripen and says to him that she does not care about scandal or about anything else. Her life is not complete without Kev. After a heart to heart with Leo, who says that Merripen would have died if Win did not live, Merripen finally admits to his feelings to Win. They quickly escape to a secluded cabin and have a passionate weekend of making love. Win goes back to the estate to brake off the engagement with Doctor Harrow. Doctor Harrow always knew that Merripen will be in the way that Julian and his thugs kidnapped Merripen and left him somewhere to die. He confesses this to the Hathaway's and says that he is the only one that knows where Meripin is being held at and the family could not do anything. He only wanted to marry Win for her money. Win hearing this pushed Julian into the closet and got a torch from the fireplace and threaten to set the closet on fire. The whole family watches in shock and was about to follow through with the plane when Doctor Julian tells her where Merripen is held captive.

After the family saves Merripen, and Doctor Julian goes to prison, they celebrate Win and Merripen's wedding in Roman tradition. Such as the head figure of the wife's family bargain with the head figure of the groom side of the family. So Leo and Rohan jokingly bargen and says that Win is too good or Merripen so Merripen is getting the better deal. After their wedding, Merripen and Rohan receives a letter from their grandfather - the Earl in Ireland. They go to him and finds out that their father passed away without any male heirs and they are the only ones that are left. Merripen agrees to name himself as an heir for Win so this way no one can make her feel uncomfortable being married to a Roman. So Win and Merripen moves to Ireland to have an estate and have a child at the end.
Best part of story, including ending: I liked how Win was determined to be with Kev and convince him that she was not a fragile woman that he needs to watch as a delicate flower.

Best scene in story: When Win was setting fire to the closet while Julian is inside and only put out of fire when he confirmed the location of kidnapped Merippin. This showed how strong Win became and willing to stand up and go with her loved one.

Opinion about the main character: I liked Win because she showed that one can become weak but they can become stronger. I loved Merripen because he was a strong guy that stayed loyal to his family and became a steady figure in the Hathaway family.
