Introduction of characters in series about Marine Corps going into and during WWII. The book begins with the Fourth Marines in Shanghai, just before the War, and follows the main characters through their assignments in the US and the Philippines as WWII begins. There are currently eight books in the series (this is number 1) and Griffin continues to tell the story of believable characters in historic settings.
