Silent Partner is rather an earlier and a deeper insight of Dr. Delaware's life before he becomes further involved in his work as a police consultant. The betrayal of a former lover and psychological illness are the main plotlines of this book.

First off, let me make note...if writing about the adversary, in any way gives clues or hints towards the ending, I shall remain from any such comments, or mislead with the more obvious.
This is a different Dr. Delaware, a younger, less modest fellow. (Thinking all women want to entwine their fingers within his curls!) He's love sick as we begin reading and hurt. (Normally he's so much more upbeat, knowing and positive.) He's starts out on a quest to understand the sudden death of an old romantic interest, but in doing so, becomes a bit more human and more matured, closer to the Delaware we listen to in "Monster", or "Dr. Death". He's so sad and hurt even before losing this old flame, (Cuz his Robin has flown the coup!) but after being overwhelmed with feelings of guilt over this old love...(Yea, can you believe he dissed her, via phone message, even? Then Bang! Suicide! He should feel guilty, lol...after all, she had just come to him for help. Geez, men!!) So...he's lead down a path of old memories, most making little sense, yet it's those thoughts, erotic and powerful that guide him most, and help him to uncover deaths through the ages, that were unnecessary and cruel. Finally bringing him to resolotion. A resolotion so convoluted, that even he is stunned and partly diminshed. "I can't be the man you want me to be right now." We love you, Doc...cuz, you're real, as is the ending. After the trauma and manipulation witnessed throughout his investigation, I would have been devistated to read the ending, any other way! Ode to the author....who knows his profession!! A fast paced challenging read with all sorts of enticements!!
