Now an alcoholic in retreat from the world, he's sucked back into journalism, the club scene, and everything else he's tried to escape, by a request he cannot refuse. While helping a rising young journalist investigate a murder near a gay bar, he starts his life again. Very strong beginning of this series. (CAVEAT: there is graphic gay sex in this book; avoid it if that's going to ick you out.)
