When Horry dies and Darcie and Cameron are both called to the reading of the will, they learn that Horry left his mansion and most of his fortune to his beloved cat, Lucky, for one month. During that period both Darcie and Cameron must live together in the mansion and look after the cat. If they both submit to the terms of the will, at the end of the month they may divide Horry's assets as they choose. If they don't meet these terms or something happens to Lucky, everything will go to Horry's unknown half-brother.
Darcie agrees to the will because she wants the estate. She has just quit another job and considers herself a failure. Cameron sees this as his second chance with Darcie, and will do anything to make their relationship work.
Things get more complicated when Darcie's other uncle shows up with his girlfriend. Suddenly it becomes apparent that someone is out to get Lucky, thereby robbing Darcie of her inheritence. Darcie and Cameron must work to protect Lucky from his unknown assailant, and attempt to rebuild their relationship.
