Survival of a Catholic Schoolgirl Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Survival of a Catholic Schoolgirl

It is a girl's coming of age story, an extremely introspective girl who was almost totally left to her own resources to determine how to survive in the adult world. The primary guidance given to her by her parents were their inculcations to be a good Catholic. The story is set in New Orleans in the late 1960's and early 70's. It begins when she is 17 and ends when she is 24 and is struggling with the same mental illnesses that ravaged her mother's life.
