|Plot Summary of Temptation: Shadow Dweller 6|
Damien "Sinjin" St. James had fled his native Scotland to hide out in New Orleans. He was devastated that the love of his life had been brutally murdered by a rogue vampire. Sure that he would never find another love like her, he immersed himself in his work - restoring an old bar/restaurant to its former glory. But when Vivian Carrington walked into his restaurant, Sinjin definitely noticed. At first, he was only interested in a brief fling, but the more he got to know the mysterious Vivian, the more he was interested in her staying around for a while. However, there were complications. First off, Vivian thought that Sinjin was involved with a sexy werewolf thief who had stolen the journal that the whole shadow dweller world was looking for and second, someone kept trying to kill Vivian. With enemies both human, werewolf, vampire, revenant, witch and who knows what else, Sinjin has his hands full getting the lovely Vivian to fall in love with him.

Vivian Carrington is one of the wealthiest and most powerful women in the world but when her best friend dies she feels empty and rudderless. She travels the world trying to find herself and ends up in New Orleans doing research for a friend. She spends a lot of her spare time at Chat Night, a popular nightclub.
The owner of Chat Night, Sinjin is actually a vampire several hundred years old trying to recover from the death of his one true love. When Vivian and Sinjin meet sparks fly, but these two wary, heartbroken people are afraid to become intimately involved with each other. While they are dealing with these unwanted feelings Sinjin comes into possession of a book that other vampires would kill for and a hit man intends to make Vivian his next target.
J.C. Wilder is one of the best writers of supernatural romances in the genre and her latest work is quite a triumph. The romance between the two protagonists is fascinating to observe but it now the two make peace with their pasts that makes TEMPTATION the author's best work to date. A fast-paced, multilayered plot and a rousing climax makes for a powerful reading experience.
