Testament To Union is a listing of all the Civil War Monuments in the nation's capital and in Northern, VA (Arlington and Alexandria). Forty one monuments total are identified, photographed and given a brief history of the significance of each. From the famous Lincoln Memorial to the obscure Nuns On The Battlefield, each stands as a permanent reminder of the country's bloodiest conflict. Predominantly honoring well-known Generals of the Union Army; Grant, Sherman, Scott, Hancock, Sheridan, Logan, Meade; there are monuments honoring naval officers, confederate soldiers, women, and a military engineer.
