The Book of Tomorrow Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of The Book of Tomorrow

This is the story of Tamara Goodwin, who recently lost her father. She and her mother move to her aunt and uncle's place in a rural village, a big difference for Tamara, who grew up in a fancy mansion. Her mother becomes very distant, does not communicate with Tamara at all and keeps to herself. There is something strange going on on the farm. Tamara meets a man who runs a bus library, and she picks up a diary, only to discover that the events of the next day, the future, are written in it. This helps her to plan her escapades and she meets many people and also a castle in the woods. Slowly, she uncovers the story of the family who lived there and died in a fire. There is also a strange woman living in the vicinity and Tamara is very curious about her. One day, she goes to her house, only to realize the woman is actually a recluse, a man, who supposedly died in the fire. It turns out the man had an affair with her mother and she is his child, and he has been hiding ever since because he was badly burned in the fire. Tamara's aunt helped him hide and concealed him.

Opinion about the main character: Tamara Goodwin, the main protagonist, is such an interesting character. It was great to see her grow and she was so funny, I often laughed out loud while reading the book.
