The Bride's Bodyguard Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of The Bride's Bodyguard

When Ross Travenan's wife died, it has been ruled out as an accident. However a private investigator approached him and told him that his wife could have been murdered. The possible link would be she had been one of those women present in the death of one student in a private women school she had attended in her early years. Ross was outraged and vowed to avenge the death of his wife. His search for the murderer led him to France where Tessa Lorimer was residing with her grandfather. Tessa had been rumored to have witnessed the drowning of that particular student and she was the last survivor of the women who had been present that night of the murder. Ross had won the favor of Tessa's grandfather and because of the unstable political environment in France and the possible threat to Tessa's life, he had been ordered by Tessa's grandfather to bring her to England and protect her at all cost. Against Tessa's wishes, she was brought to England by Ross who appointed himself as her guardian. Tessa didn't like Ross because he always criticized her. When Tessa's English relatives came to claim guardianship of her, Tessa became frightened for she didn't wish to return back to them because she had suffered maltreatment from their hands. Tessa begged Ross that they marry in name only to protect her from her relatives. Ross agreed for he didn't want to let go of Tessa and the marriage would be able to protect her from vicious gossip and the advancing murderer. Tessa and Ross soon couldn't contain their attraction from one another and it wasn't long before they had consummated the marriage. However Ross still thought of his wife and vowed that no woman can get hold of his heart ever again. Tessa started falling in love for Ross and she had been hurting when she learned that Ross was still attached to the memory of his first wife. When another woman from Tessa's past got killed, Ross decided to bring Tessa to that school where the murder had happened to force Tessa to remember what had happened that night. Ross wanted the mystery to be revealed before the killer can get to Tessa.
