A girl named Maewen goes back in time through the assistance of special powers to help find someone to fill the throne of Dalemark. There is a soon-to-be queen named Noreth that looks identical to Maewen. When the queen disappears, Maewen takes her place. Maewen leads Noreth's people to find the four tokens that will allow her to become the queen.

Maewen and Mitt begin a search for the ancient crown of Dalemark. Whoever receives the crown of Dalemark gets the throne of Dalemark. They find the crown of Dalemark with the ruler of Dalemark. Mitt receives the crown of Dalemark. Mitt becomes the new king and begins his reign by trying to build Dalemark to be a better place.

Maewen goes forward in time to her present day. She is followed by men that want to kill her because she stopped them from getting the crown while in the past. Mitt is still alive in present time because he finds out that he cannot die. Mitt saves Maewen from the men that want to kill her.

Maewen and Mitt fall in love. In the end, Mitt leaves and they decide wait four years until Maewen is old enough to be together. However, Maewen realizes that she doesn't want to wait to be with Mitt. She decides to find him and be with him.
Best part of story, including ending: What I liked about this story was that a new king was to be crowned. I liked the search for the crown of Dalemark because the crown gives someone a throne.

Best scene in story: I liked the part where Maewen goes back into the future. It was exciting that someone came to the future from the past to hurt her because she thought that no one in the future wanted to hurt her.

Opinion about the main character: What I liked most about Mitt and Maewen was that they each deserved the crown of Dalemark. They were very humble when one of them received it.
