After their coming of age cerimony, Tarrant Hawkins and his three friends discover a scouting party that could signal the beginnings of an invasion from the north. They then travel to the capital city where on their way they come across a sword that makes the user invincible, but at the eventual cost of his life and/or sanity. When they arrive in the capital, they are assigned to travel on a counter strike and stop the invasion before it begins.
