Cassandra truly wants to marry the duke. She has loved him since childhood. Now that he is coming to claim his bride in two weeks, she is horrified to realize that he intends to marry a girl he hasn't seen since childhood for her money alone.

Cassandra resorts to a scandalous deception to win the Duke's love. She travels to London and pretends to be an actress to gain the Dukes attention and hopefully his love.
