On the other side of the world, in Spain, Marina, who is, in fact, number Seven, is hiding with her guardian in a covent. Seven believes they have been found, but she doesn't manage to convince her guardian to run away, or help her with her developing abilities (called legacies) at all. Frustrated, she tries to figure them out on her own.
Back in the United States, Four and Six open their Chests - a unique box that includes everything Four might need in order to fight the Mogadorians. In the chest, other than objects he has no idea what they are, he finds a letter from Henri about Sam's dad. When they find out that his father had a secret base in Paradise, the group sets out to find it. After they arrive there, John and Sam leave to find Sarah and Six and the dog, who can change shapes, find the base. The Mogadorians find them there and fight them, while the FBI captures John and Sam. When the Mogadorians attack the prison in order to kill them, they all manage to escape, but without their Chests.
In the meanwhile, in Spain, number Seven and her new friend, Ella, revive Seven's Chest. She tries to contact Six, but ends up accidentally alerting the Mogadorians where she is. They come to get her, but she manages to run away with her Chest, thanks to her guardian staying behind. She also finds out that Ella was, in fact, number Ten, which they didn't know that even existed.
Knowing they need their chests, John, Sam and the dog leave to retrieve them, while Six turns to Spain. They agree on a meeting point and then split. Six manages to arrive to Spain just in time to help Ella's guardian and Seven fight the Mogadorians off. Four, Sam and the dog manage to enter the Mogadorians' cave, where they keep their Chests, where they find their Chases and locked number Nine. They escape, but Sam remains behind, even though they don't know it until it is too late to find him. Injured, Four, Nine and the dog are headed north, to find Six.
Best part of story, including ending: I liked this story because it was interesting to read about an alien civilization, and the action scenes are fun to read.

Best scene in story: I didn't have a favorite scene.

Opinion about the main character: I like that John is growing up. He's clearly growing more and more mature. He also has good strategic thinking.
