The View From Saturday Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of The View From Saturday

Four students (Noah, Nadia, Ethan and Julian) are chosen to participate in an academic trivia competition by their paraplegic teacher, Mrs.Olinski. When this sixth grade team wins the Epiphany Middle School sixth grade competition, they move on to compete against the seventh grade at an addition championship. Saturday is the day of the competition, and as the team works together to answer each question that comes up, the book tells a particular story about each individual team mate, in explanation of why and how the sixth grade team started on the road to victory. Intertwined in the story of this competition is the story of how this group of students came to be friends, and how their teacher came to choose them to participate in the Bowl. The View From Saturday explains how hindsight can explain how people come to be who they are and know what they know.
