The White Raven Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of The White Raven

Esseilte, an Irish Princess is sent to England to be married to King Marc'h. On the journey she falls in love with Drustan, a harper and warrior, and Marc'h's nephew. To hide her love affair, she sends her cousin Branwen to the wedding bed, but on the wedding night, Marc'h takes his queen to a stone circle to perfom an old pagan rite. Branwen becomes Queen of the spirit world, while Essilte rules as Marc'h's queen. Altough she loathes the deceit, Branwen helps Essilte and Drustan conduct their love affair, whilst hiding her own love for the king. Jealousy and pain tear them appart, and Essilte's love affair is clearly doomed.
