Not everyone is happy that Betsy has been crowned queen. There are quite a few vampires upset with her title. They still plan to be at the party because even vampires love a good time.

Betsy has a new problem. There is a zombie living in her attic. Unless he plans to help her with all of that she's facing in the coming week, he can plan to leave. She could ask her fiance Eric to help if the zombie becomes a problem. He certainly has time since he refuses to lift a finger to help with the wedding plans. She's been trying to come up with a way to tell him that she is going to give up drinking blood as soon as they are married.

The evening before Eric had taken Betsy out for drinks (blood) and presented her with a beautiful gold band with diamonds and her favorite stone, rubies. She recalls the sex had been off the chain. It may have been the ring, the drinks, or the rush from the coffee they ordered on their way back to the house.

The following morning (eleven pm) she was having breakfast with friends and attending to the guest list for her birthday party. Mom, dad, step-mom and a host of friends, and those who didn't think she was worthy of her title (European Vampires) were all on the guest list.

Most of Betsy's friends are dead but what does that matter? Her friends (subjects) remind Betsy that two months earlier, she hadn't wanted a party. She'd threatened them with death if they were to give one. Now she is making a guest list. They're fooling Betsy her party will take place that very day.

Things get interesting when guests arrive some dead and some, very much alive. Some have been killed and will be expected to dance and party with their murderer. It is all for Betsy.

The day of the party many friends stop by to throw Besty off. They really want her to be surprised. Her best friend Jessica, her gay bff Mark, George who shares the house is taking it all in while knitting an afghan, and Betsy's love Eric.

The European Vampires show up demanding justice for Betsy's murder and the murders of a few of their ranks. Betsy orders a truce (she has other things to do).

Eric wants Betsy to take control of the vampires and her half-sister and Laura and Tina try and help her out. The European Vampires are waiting to see if Betsy is going to fight for them. If not they may take her down. (she's already dead) but losing her throne would be worse.

The zombie is living in the attic and it appears that if Betsy doesn't kill it she will lose her throne. The zombie is a stinking rotting mess. Betsy isn't sure what to do. She decides the best course of action would be to break its neck. This means she has to touch it and it stinks and is full of maggots. She does what a queen has to do. She grabs it by the neck and twists the zombie falls to the floor. Betsy has a cool points as queen and now maybe the European Vampires will cut her some slack.

Just in time too, the guest are arriving for her un-surprise birthday party. Eric looks at his fiance proudly and the party seekers all wish her a happy birthday. Betsy looks at the chocolate ice cream filling up a table on one side of the room with an amused look on her face and admonishes them all for throwing a party that she didn't want. Eric kisses her and is glad his girl is happy.
Best part of story, including ending: I didn't like this story although Betsy made for a humorous character.

Best scene in story: My favorite scene was the diversity of folk who showed up for Betsy's party.

Opinion about the main character: I liked that Betsy had a good heart and a great sense of humor.
