Vector Book Summary and Study Guide

Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Vector

Robin Cook has given his readers another exciting novel around the mysterious contagion situation. This time, although written in 1999 before the wider world was really aware of the threat of biological weapons, Cook has set his plot around an anthrax attack in New York. Yuri Davydov is a Russian immigrant who has become disenchanted with the American way of life and plans to get even with the system. When he meets with a   pseudo-Nazi group calling themselves the People's Aryan Army and they compare skills and resources a plot is formed to fill a major Federal building with Anthrax. Davydov is a former nuclear weapons technician and converts his basement into an elaborate laboratory to make the weapon. Cook keeps the suspense coming as we move between the perpetrator's progress and the office of the Medical Examiner where Dr Jack Stapleton is very slowly reaching the conclusion that something is not quite right.

This is a very exciting story about what would happen if terrorists could label bioweapon/virus and use it against the government and people. It's amazing and scary reading this book after the horror of 11th September, and so you can thank God how lucky we are 'cause it could have been worse. I hope we can truly realize about "dangers" thanx to this good book.

When I read Chromosome 6, I thought to myself: he will
never write a novel as good as that. I think I was right.
Featuring again Dr. Laurie Montgomerry and Jack Stapleton
(both were in Contagion and Chromosome 6), this book has
not the usual quality I see in Cook,s works. Didnt like
it much. Just an Okay reading. For the ones who are
already used to read the author.
