The former farmer, Dakeyras, after the deaths of his wife and son, turns into the deadly assassin. Hunted and despised; Waylander is given the chance to redeem himself. By journeying to the barren lands of the Nadir he is charged to bring back the legendary armour of bronze to aid the Drenai cause......but, can he be trusted for he's the one who killed their King?

Waylander, a vicious assassin, saves a priest who manages to convert him to his old faith. Later, he is persuaded to search for the Armor of Bronze, which can rally the Drenai race before they are exterminated by the Gothir, led by Kaem the Cruel.
