Detailed plot synopsis reviews of When Loved Ones Lie

Dominique, or Dot, as she is more commonly known, has been with Jeff since her early teens. Raised by her grandparents, Dot was forced to run away to be with Jeff who was much older than her. For over six years, Jeff took care of Dot, and she was sure that one day they would be married.

Dot is so excited when she finds out that she is pregnant. She plans to surprise Jeff on a trip to Cancun. Jeff never comes home. He is arrested and charged with several federal crimes. Dot is told that the man she has live with for so many years is really an escaped convict living under a fake name. Dot also learns that he has a wife and two children. Both the car and the house are seized, leaving her homeless. Dot has an abortion only to find out later that she is still pregnant.

Jeff expects Dot to help him to fight his case from the outside, but Dot is scared and confused. Her friends Veronica and Kelley are big influences on her new lifestyle. With Jeff out of the picture, Veronica's boyfriend, Corey, even tries to rape her. Dot must set out to find the truth.
