Sydney Darrow is the daughter of a renowed anthropologist. A young widow, she arrives at her father's home where he is studying a man who appeared to have been raised by wolves. Locked up, he does not speak. His lonely gaze fascinates Sydney and she thinks more company would be good for him. With kindness and gentleness, she discovers he can talk and has a name, Michael.
