Note--Most characters in this book have names like Rachel and Nick which may cause you to think, "Hey, these must be white people.". But they are Chinese--all Chinese. Not that there's anything wrong with that!
Rachel: Rachel is a Chinese woman living in America who is in love with Nick. She goes back to Singapore to meet his family, who are super wealthy and shit all over her.
Nick: Nick loves Rachel but realizes his super rich family will not approve of her. He's a sensitive caring guy; Nick would cut off his balls and eat them for breakfast if it would make Rachel happy. In other words, he's a two dimensional character.

Colin: Colin is Nick's best friend, who is marrying Araminta (see below). He's extremely wealthy. His only purpose in the story seems to be to show how rich these Chinese people are.
Araminta: Araminta is marrying Colin.
Peik Lin: Peik Lin has a name like a porn star, but she's simply Rachel's Singapore friend. You want some Peik Lin? You pay me 50 dollar, right now!
Francesca: Francesca is a distant relative of Nick who is trying to sabotage his relationship with Rachel. She tells Rachel about the time Nick licked her v_gina and boned her and another woman at the same time.
Eleanor: Eleanor is Nick's mother, and she views Rachel as lower class and wants to break up their relationship.
Ah Ma: Ah Ma! God bless you! Heh heh heh. Ah Ma is the Grandma. Grandma is in charge of Nick's big family and she has all the money. Nick is set to inherit unless he marries Rachel.
Astrid: Astrid is Nick's cousin, she is married to Michael, but she suspects Michael is boning another chick.
Michael: Michael is married to Astrid. He loves having sex with Astrid but thinks being associated with her arrogant rich family sucks balls.
