A woman named Lily tells her story. She's Chinese. As a child she was a rebel. She didn't do well in school, and she wore all black clothes, like a lesbian. Her brother Mark tried to cheer her up by teaching Lily to play the flute. Lily discovered she had a talent for playing the flute, and actually became a good player. This changed Lily. She stopped being such a c_nt and started behaving normally. But suddenly she loses the ability to play the flute, and becomes a brat again.
Then she goes to a park and sees a retarded boy. She starts to play the flute for the retarded boy and he likes it. Lily feels happy again.

The next story is Mr. Mangalam's, although we don't realize it for a number of pages, because the asswipe author won't tell us who is narrating that chapter and so we are forced to figure it out over time. Mr. Mangalam was raised as a poor boy in India but he wanted to marry a rich girl. So he pretended to be rich and hung out with rich people, and met a girl from a wealthy family named Naina. She fell in love with him and even agreed to marry him even when she learned the truth, that he was really poor.
However, after they got married, Naina became a real bitch, ordering Mr. Mangalam around and treating him like a slave. Mr. Mangalam quickly stopped loving her and started a platonic relationship with Latika, a woman who worked at his place of work. Then he told Naina he wanted a divorce. Naina somehow found out about his platonic friend Latika and had her arrested on false charges and moved somewhere else, and refused to give Mr. Mangalam a divorce. Mr. Mangalam decided to start fooling around with Naina's rich friends, figuring that Naina couldn't get rid of a rich friend so easily and that would pressure Naina to give him a divorce. Mr. Mangalam irritated Naina so much that he got shipped to America where he got his current job at the embassy; Naina, however, still will not divorce him for some reason I don't understand.
Malathi thinks more highly of Mr. Mangalam now; she sees him not simply as a cheating husband but as a sensitive guy. Maybe they will make out in his private bathroom after all.
Mrs. Pritchett tells her story. She tries to kill herself with sleeping pills but fails. Maybe she forgot that the pills have to go in her mouth, and not in her ass, heh heh.
Anyway when Mr. Pritchett finds out, he has his wife locked up in a mental hospital for a while and forced to take mind control pills that turn her into a retard.
Mrs. Pritchett said that she tried to kill herself because while Mr. Pritchett was nice to her, she didn't love him. What a bitch! If she didn't love him, why didn't she simply divorce him?
Then when she was in the hospital the ghost of an Indian woman came to Mrs. Pritchett and told her that she was being a bitch and she should stop complaining, and to look for good things in her life.
Mrs. Pritchett planned to seek happiness by going to India and running away from Mr. Pritchett. What a retarded plan. It goes like this.
Unhappiness-->Go to India--> Happiness.
This is a plan???? It sounds like Mrs. Pritchett needs to take some more mind control pills.
Cameron the violent black man who hits people on the head tells his story. He met a girl who he thought was unattractive because her skin was too dark. Even black people are racist, with light colored black people feeling they are superior to dark colored ones. But Cameron liked her singing voice. He had big plans for her mouth, heh heh. Her name was Imani and Cameron courted her so he could bang her later.
Imani "initiated him into the mysteries of the female body". Isn't that a pompous way of saying they had sex? Did Imani really have to teach Cameron which hole to stick it into? What terrible writing.
Imani got pregnant so I guess she initiated Cameron into the mysteries real well. Cameron suggested she suck it out with an abortionist's vacuum cleaner. This upset Imani. She broke up with Cameron, though he later learned that she did in fact have an abortion, and had her baby sucked out of her womb. Woosh!
Cameron, now feeling guilty that he pressured Imani to suck her baby out of her twat, volunteered to work with dying people.
