Plot Summary Part 2

And she is.

“Listen to yourself. I don’t think I am pregnant. I know I am pregnant. I have not seen my period in six months. See my stomach. I have even felt the baby kick! I don’t think I am pregnant, doctor. I am pregnant. Can’t you see? I am pregnant.”

After 11 months, Yejide still felt pregnant. Maybe this was one of those 11 month pregnancies, heh heh heh.

Suddenly, Akin's brother Dotun appears. He bones Yejide one night.

Suddenly, Yejide is pregnant for real. She gives birth to a baby named Olamide.

Suddenly, Funmi has fallen down a staircase and is dead.

We find out that Akin killed Funmi by pushing her down the stairs. Now that Yejide had given birth to a child, Funmi was no longer necessary and he killed her. One wonders why he didn't just divorce her.

Then baby Olamide dies. Yejide is very upset. Moomi said Olamide died due to evil ghosts.

Akin gets freaked out by Yejide's breast milks stain:

Then I noticed the breast-milk stain on the front of her green blouse. I could tell she wasn’t wearing a bra and the stain was right in front of her right nipple. It was a fresh stain, small, about the size of a baby’s hand, Olamide’s hand. I simply forgot whatever it was I had wanted to say. As I watched the milk stain spread downwards, I realised that the ground under our feet had just been pulled away....

Then Dotun bones Yejide again. He seduces her, telling her he likes how her "breasts jiggle" when she walks down stairs, which sexually excites Yejide.  When Olamide dies, Dotun comforts Yejide in her grief, heh heh heh.

“It is OK. OK, he’s OK.” I felt Dotun’s hand on my neck. His tongue, his hands, his hardness deep inside me again. Later, when his hardness became limp inside me, it still was not enough. I craved more than ever.

Yejide craves Dotun's dick, heh heh heh.

Later, Yejide gets pregnant again, this time with a baby named Sesan.

Sesan has sickle cell disease. Doctors doing a genetic test tell Akin that Sesan is not his son. Akin is not at all surprised; he not only knew that Dotun had boned Yejide, Akin had planned it all along!

This is the biggest surprise in the book. Akin knew there was nothing wrong with Yejide and that he was the problem. So he arranged for Dotun to bang Yejide, and pretended to know nothing about it.

We see flashbacks where Akin tells/told Dotun that he will only have to bone Yejide over one weekend to make her pregnant. This makes no sense. The author of this book seems to think that sex once or twice is enough to get pregnant. Then Akin tells Dotun that he wants three or four kids, which means that Dotun will only have to bang Yejide over three or four weekends. This is totally unrealistic and not the way reproduction works. Akin's most ridiculous line:

"It will just be sex five times at the most and you are done.”

Later, Sesan dies of sickle cell disease, but Akin tells Yejide that Sesan is fine!

I went back to Yejide. “He is getting better,” I said.

“When can we see him?”

“Not yet. They are...they want to observe him for two more hours before we see him.”

“He wants us to bring ewedu stew for him so that...because when... it’s nutritious..."

Hahahahaha. Yejide eventually has a mental breakdown when she figures out the truth.

Then Moomi, Akin's Mom, comes over and asks permission to whip Sesan's dead body. She thinks there is an evil ghost involved and she can get rid of the evil ghost by whipping the child's dead body.
