Detailed plot synopsis reviews of Sugar

Plot Summary Part 3

When Sugar hears the news she immediately starts eating cookies and candy and cake. She even eats cookie dough! Then she finds out that Caleb was chasing Even the night he died, and Even, trying to get away from Caleb, smashed into a tree and died.

Sugar goes to see a psychiatrist named Juliana and Sugar starts to talk about her problems and lose weight.

Caleb tries to bone Sugar again. Sugar refuses to be boned.

That's when Sugar meets Jesus. Sugar flees her home and goes to a local church and meets the janitor. His name is Jesus. But he is Spanishy so probably pronounces it something like "HAYSOOOOS".

Jesus tells Sugar that he is her uncle. What are the odds of that--that Sugar would wander into a church and just happen to find someone who is her secret relative? And what are the odds that a guy who works in a church... is named Jesus? If he's a janitor, do you think he has a work shirt that says "Jesus" on it?

Jesus tells Sugar that he is her uncle. Jesus says that her father, who Sugar was told was a dead Puerto Rican, is actually a living Mexican man, living in Mexico. After Sugar's father boned Sugar's Mom she grew dissatisfied with him and reported him to the authorities. Evidently Sugar's dad was an illegal alien. Jesus says that Sugar's Mom got him deported, claiming he was a drug dealer, but Jesus says that claim was not true.

Of course, in reality, people are not convicted of crimes without evidence, so despite what Jesus says, Sugar's dad almost certainly was a drug dealer. An illegal alien drug dealer.

Anyway, Jesus says that Sugar's dad misses them in Mexico where he is undoubtedly selling drugs. We are supposed to believe that her Dad never tried to get a message to Sugar through Jesus, which is totally unbelievable.

Jesus calls Sugar's mom a dog, heh heh.

Sugar does nothing with this startling information. She never tries to visit her father.
