Plot Summary Part 3

Copper is angry to be treated like a lesbian trophy.

Dior's sister Catherine is released from a concentration camp. She's very thin. She was sent there for being part of the French resistance. Catherine had a boyfriend named Herve, but Herve was married to someone else. There is a lot of stuff about Catherine. Why should we care about a character who just parachutes into the story and has nothing to do with Copper? The answer is that we don't. It feels like the author ran out of story to right for Copper and added the Catherine part for filling.

There is even more about Catherine. She went through a terrible experience but because this character is not central to the story, it has little impact. Herve shows up. He says he loves Catherine, but won't divorce his wife. He offers, however, to bone Catherine whenever she likes. What a generous man!

Amory make another appearance. He tells Copper about the horrors of the concentration camps. The concentration camps were full of horrors. But even though this was true, this has nothing to do with Copper or Dior's story. There are more pages of this.

Copper agrees to marry Henry. She goes to tell Suzy. Suzy is very unhappy to hear this. She opens her gown to show Copper her lesbian v_gina, and asks "Don't you want this?"

She kisses Copper, and started squeezing her breasts in a final effort to turn Copper into a lesbian. But Copper won't let Suzy turn her into a lesbian, and leaves. After some back and forth, Copper finally chose p_nis over rug munching.

Right before the wedding starts, Copper changes her mind and calls the wedding off. What a bitch!

Do you want to know why Copper changed her mind? There's no real explanation.  Something about not liking big weddings. But then, the author never showed Copper having a relationship with Henry. The author just plunked them together, had Henry propose marriage, and had her agree. So after having a non-relationship they had a non-wedding ceremony. Why should the reader care?

Henry comes to Copper and apologizes for pushing her into marriage before she was ready. Henry acts totally castrated like he cut off his own balls. He should be enraged at Copper for making him look like a fool in front of everyone at the wedding but instead acts apologetic. What a pussy.

Suzy has been found guilty of collaborating with the Nazis and so is leaving for America. Copper gives Suzy a goodbye kiss. Suzy is upset she never got Copper to munch her rug.

Copper changes her mind and agrees to marry Henry, without giving a convincing reason why she changed her mind. They get married.

Dior gets an important job designing clothes for someone, and is given six million francs to start a company. Copper is happy for him. Yawn.

Amory shoots himself in the head and gets locked in a mental hospital. He has to have a metal plate put in his head like Frankenstein, heh heh. Copper visits him in the insane asylum. Amory apologizes for boning other women while they were married. Copper no longer cares. He tells her he still loves her. Copper no longer cares. Neither does the reader.

Henry impregnates Copper.
