Mercy: Mercy is a slutty Korean American who likes to get drunk and bang guys. She gets hired as a nanny but loses one of the kids, permanently. Ooops!
Margaret: Margaret is married with three kids. At least, she used to have three kids until Mercy lost one of them. Ooops! Margaret spends the entire book moaning for her lost kid.
G: G is the name of Margaret's lost kid. Really. His name is G. They never find him, so, this being South Korea, he's either sold into child slavery or is being served as a disguised entree at some local restaurant.
Hilary: Hilary is married to David. David bones her a lot but can't get Hilary pregnant. This puts a lot of stress in their relationship. Hilary wants to adopt a boy named Julian.
