Tom, Betty Ann, and Emma all come into contact with the low, pink building, which is a gateway to two other worlds: the World of the Undead, and the land of Gruss. All of them come from the World of the Living, but Betty Ann goes to the land of Gruss, where she becomes ruler, and Emma goes to the World of the Undead, where she becomes the Queen of the Undead.
