You can read this charming book in less than two hours. The story consists entirely of letters from a New York writer requesting books, and a London Used Bookseller who places her orders. The correspondence, which lasts over 20 years grows from one of mutual interest in books, admiration, to friendship and love. Not as good as its predecessor, this sequel to 84 Charing Cross Road tells of Helen's adventure once she finally gets to see London, and her spiritual quest that is met while she is there.
