All My Sins Remembered
Basically a series of several short stories describing events/missions in the lifetime of a single spy/agent Otto Mcgavin. With his mind altered he is forced to kill and cheat to protect the interests of Earth across many planets, while he himself is a gentle person at the start of the book. He only remembers his 'sins' under hypnosis in the parts of the book bridging between stories. Fairly bleak........

Mindbridge
Written just after the Hugo prize winning THE FOREVER WAR, Joe Haldeman's MINDBRIDGE was published in 1976. In a near future, men will be able to travel through space thanks to the Levant-Meyer transfer, an unexplainable physical phenomenon which sends humans or objects light years away for a limited time only. One day, a team of explorers comes back after having encountered an alien race. They're all dead. A good novel by the former physician Joe ...
The Accidental Time Machine
Matt Fuller, an underachieving research assistant at one of MIT's high-tech laboratories, accidentally creates a time machine while performing routine maintenance on a graviton calibrator; the problem: the time machine only moves forward, and only in progressively exponential leaps. MIT in 2058 is not all that different from the MIT of today. The laboratory work is still tedious, the research assistants still (in their opinion) under-appreciated, and the...

The Hemingway Hoax

Thus starts an interesting chase (and a number of deaths for John Baird) through alternate realities before a finale which brings it all together. At times confusing, but ultimately fun and satis...
