Martha was relaxing at her house, when Olive's mom came by to drop off a page from Olive's diary. Olive died when she was hit by a car. In the diary page it talks about what Olive wants to be and says that Martha was very kind to her. Martha then had to take her sister Lucy on a walk and took her by Olive's house. At her house, she wrote Olive on the sidewalk by her house and also put a bracelet around the O in Olive.
