Douglas Yandell is a classical music critic. His friend Sir Roy Vandervane is an aging music conductor who is having an affair with a 17 year old girl named Sylvia. Douglas becomes involved in the affairs of Sir Roy when Kitty, Roy's wife, calls Douglas and asks him to discover with whom her husband is engaging in an affair.
