The Language of Stones
As Will reaches the age of manhood, a wizard, Gwydion, visits him and tells him his parents are not his real parents and takes him with him. Gwydion teaches Will about the network of ancient stones that lie beneath the land (that resembles, but isn't exactly, 15th century Great Britain).
