Emma posts on 12/9/2009 12:38:14 PM If you like The Lovely Bones, read “Forgiving Ararat” by Gita Nazareth. I’m a publicist and fan of the book which is about a woman who unlocks the secrets behind her own murder. Read this exciting new supernatural thriller in stores or online now.

Lisa Simon posts on 1/1/2009 1:37:00 PM I was absoloutely enthralled with Lovely Bones, my question/comment about it is how did Alice acquire the information about what happens to us when we pass? As someone who does spirit communication, I was totally amazed at how accurate her 'impressions' are regarding what goes on after some one passes away. The earthbound spirits I work with actually speak in detail what Alice describes that goes on with them in her book. It was as if she had experienced direct spirit communication herself, and incorporated that into her book. The examples that she writes about, like Susie's little brother saying he see's and talks with Susie, this situation has been reported to me from the spirits when they talk of how they go back and see their families. Also how she talks of 'Susie's Heaven', the spirits describe it just like she talks of. I could site numerous other examples of the interaction and the presence of loved ones who have passed, that she writes of, in this book. I am amazed at the content, the accuracy in which she describes, the details could have been autobiographical in nature, it is that close to what truly goes on. The After Life can be a very controversial topic, but Alice's description as to what happens after we pass, can be reassuring to those who wonder exactly what is in store for us all when our time comes. And what else was so 'on the mark', was how people describe what they have gone thru after a violent passing, and the attitudes they employ as they continue on their 'journey'. I do expect a lot of flak for my observations on this particular book, we as human beings are just plain and simply not comfortable in talking about death, and what comes after. I appreciate this medium in which to express my idea's and observations of Alice's book. Thank You LS

Grace posts on 2/22/2006 3:43:04 AM I loved "The Lovely Bones" and have read and reread it. The most interesting thing about it, to me, is that even though the storyline is about a murder, I can identify with the metaphor behind the story. When someone you love is taken from you, or evn if you have a very traumatic experience, you change, your family changes. Nothing is ever the same because everyone develops his or her own way to deal with the experience or loss. I loved the book and it will probably always be one of my favorites.
molly posts on 2/8/2006 12:55:23 PM iv recently read 'Lucky' and its helped me deal with feelings i had never come to terms with since my rape. i never thought id feel clean again but now i do, thank you.
lindsay posts on 12/27/2005 4:28:02 PM Alice, I was raped this year not even a month ago, and i just read Lucky. I'm still dealing with the court process and trying to work with my college(who just wants to pretend this didn't happen). Your book gave me hope, to know others have gone through this, and others decided to fight. I'm following the advice for court, and I just pray that if im fortunate enough to go all the way to court, that I'll have the same strength and courage you had, or close to it. Thanks for an amazing book, I can't tell you how much it's changed my life.
