Lord of D, I see you are a yu-gi-oh fan, I dabbled in the games myself. I hold a dragon deck and a spellcasters, but havent entered a tournament since I came third last year. It was an achievment, but now I concentrate on my books, both reading and writing. Nearly finished on the white dragon, its taken some time due to having to re-read the color purple for english.

Dragons rule! I am a dragon nut- but anne macaffery sometimes just bores me. My favourite dragon is the blue eyes white. Yours?

Hi i started reading her books about three years ago when i had nothing to read. in that book i found the best auther in the world. i started with the Whight Dragon and the idea of Ruth and Jaxom captivated my soul and started a fire for mare dragon books. i know alot about her books and can get info on every one of her books if you need it. i also know there is a book coming out intitled Dragons Fire by Ann McCaffry and Todd McCaffry. it will be out July 21 and i think it is about Mirrim and Path.

no ones talked on here in a while. I'm currently reading dragonsinger, and longing to read the white dragon. I like the character of menolly and cringed when she injured her hand (I could barely dare to read on I'm that sqeemish!)

oh well, i guess my reasons are simple, i first read mccaffery books sci fiction death of sleep had not heard of dragon series, so i don't get when an author as a good series they stop writing inthat universe

Hmm, perhaps there was some form of agreement. I mean, there are alot of people that wish they were in a different time or something, perhaps the settlers were those who wished to live like they live in the book instead of dying on the toxicated, mechanical and corrupted modern world of earth (sorry about that). I know I'd prefere living like them (even without the dragons and thread)

true, however, the earth at the time when the origonal settlers arrived at pern would have been VERY different from the way it is now, which means society on earth itself would have evolved. laws and restrictions and especially mindsets would be radically different. another thing to look at is, didn't they/what if they destroyed the coordinates of the location of pern for the express purpose of letting it exist on its own.
