Bad Day at Black Rock Message Board

While it is true that there is no marker at the site of the "Bad Day at Black Rock" set location, once a year during the Lone Pine Film Festival a tour is sponsored that includes the "Bad Day" location and they post a temporary sign there. The old Southern Pacific railbed crosses a dirt road about a mile beyond the old Lone Pine depot, and there one can find the remnants of the sets on the ground--old tar paper, boards, nails, and so forth. It's worth a visit, just to let your imagination take hold of how the location must have looked--and the view is still spectacular.
