Mahdis posts on 9/8/2005 12:45:25 AM I LOVE this book!! Its extraordianry, and simply breathtaking!! I love Zafon's style, and just the whole plot of the book is pure genius! Zafon is definitely my new FAVORITE author and I hope to read more books by him, so he better stary writing some more! Move over Dickens and all you famous writers of the past centuries, because Carlos Ruiz Zafon is THE writer of this century! I NEED more books by him...in the mean time, I'm re-reading Shadow of the Wind, because it will still be just as good no matter how much you read it!!
candace posts on 9/6/2005 12:17:27 PM I am just crazy for this book. I began reading it and was immediatedly taken in. Can someone tell me if there are other books out there by this wonderful author???
Alejandra posts on 8/30/2005 4:18:28 AM I am in love with this book. I picked it up at a sale months ago and once I started reading it I have not been able to put it down. I am in awe...obsessed. It is a masterpiece and words fail me to describe how wonderful it is. I feel like Daniel obsessed with Carax.
Barbara Hylton posts on 8/29/2005 1:17:28 PM I loved this book and am really dissapointed at some of the negative reviews I read on Amazon. The author has produced a masterpiece and this book is superb and a most enjoyable and satisfying read.. it scores 10/10 for atmosphere /characters/.. just brilliant and will recommend it to everyone.... loved the way all the loose ends are tied up at the end of the novel the best ever ending of any book I have read .. excellent definately an A+++++++++++++++++
giselle fernandez posts on 8/20/2005 11:09:22 PM How do I get in touch with the author or the author's agent?
Jaime Fernandez posts on 8/18/2005 5:28:30 PM I would advise you all to start learning Spanish. It is always going to be much better for a native reader. You probably missed out on certain cultural things, humor and so on. I think he is a brilliant author but believe it or not he made a few mistakes in the use of Spanish throughout the book. Surprising if we consider his masterly descriptions.
Amanda Farrell posts on 8/17/2005 10:28:56 PM I laughed out loud and cried, both in public places, on my journey through this book. The characters accompanied me through my working day when I wasn't reading the novel. The depth of the characters, their humour (particularly Fermin), horror, love and sadness was so scarily realistic that I felt as involved in this story as Daniel was involved with Julian Carax. I also found valuable lessons in its lines. When I approached the ending I slowed down as much as possible, loathe to reach the last line. But it was a beautiful ending to the most beautiful book I have read and... Again, I cried! Thankyou Senor Zafon for giving this to all of us.
