She presents a world of unlimited wealth and opportunity where nothing worthwhile is ever chosen or accomplished. If you want to be inspired by a young woman who chose to do more with her life than buy clothes and screw guys, read about the words and work of Rachel Corrie.

wow. i see what Mary Jo Davis is trying to say, but not all people who read these books sare dumb girls trying to jump into bed with any guy they see. these books are for entertainment, and most girls arent trying to learn life lessons from them. my friends and i who have read these books arent dumb girls with no ambitions, but thanks for judging all girls who have read these books. plus, its not like these are the only books we read. i have read both To Kill a Mockingbird AND The Bean Trees, thank you very much. i love the gossip girls series as well as other, more 'appropriate' books.

Ok first I'd like to say that these books are awesome...well ive only read the first one, but im working on it :P Whats realllly bugging me is...you know that pic they took of serena...that was on the side of the bus or w/e? the one no one can figure out what it is? does anyone know WHAT the pic is of?? thats gonna drive me nuts...THANKS!! xD

After reading the postings I worry for the future of American women. Neena needs to brush up on her grammar skills, which I bet would happen if she read a decent book like To Kill a Mockingbird or The Bean Trees. Cecily von Ziegesar is a scam artist and is laughing all the way to the bank as she poisons the youth of America with her titillating lies about what a young woman should be doing in her high school years. My hope is that these poor, impressionable young women see these books for what they are--sad pieces of commercialism. There is so much more out there for young women than to get trapped in this logic that sex with a guy, any guy, is the answer. Ms. von Ziegesar should be writing about young women who stand up to guys looking for a "piece" instead of giving into them. She should write about young women who set goals and accomplish them, who do something to make the world a better place, or at least act as if they have some self-respect. Please tell me I haven't worked for over twenty years for women's equality just to see it flushed down the toilet by some opportunistic flunky like CECILY VON ZIEGESAR!

Is there goin to be a movie coming out? Because that would be soo tight! And if there was auditions i think they should come to minnesota for it! Gossip girl has a lot of fans here!

apparently the movie is coming out this year along with the new book 'only in your dreams' i love these books but the thing that pisses me off is that why does nate have to be such a dick? he is so meant to be with blair!
