Christina Crawford Message Board

RF posts on 12/20/2008 12:38:43 AM The very fact that someone writes such a negative book about their own mother is proof positive that it happened because no one from a loving home would ever write about a parent that way. Christina Crawford's account about her mother, I have no doubt, is true and probably an understatement as there is no way to describe the pain that occurs at the hands of such a despicable parent when you are a child. The woman may have been a good actress but Joan Crawford was obviously a disgusting disturbed person.
Rachel posts on 12/19/2008 8:35:16 PM I know your christina's friend, not that she has many but, how would you know what happend in her house first hand? I'm guessing you weren't there. You just want to believe her because your her friend. Christina needs to get a life and stop writing those books, it's old news we're tired of hearing this old lady cry. She's never going to be anything but JOAN CRAWFORD'S DAUGHTER.
PAM posts on 12/19/2008 8:11:22 PM Well, There's quite a fight going on here. Not that anyone really cares, but I happen to know first hand what really happened. Christina is my closest friend. My adopted mother was also famous, so I too have had experience with fans, and their undying devotion. They ask about your celebrity parent but only really want to hear the answer if it's something wonderful. In a way I get it. I have always loved Judy Garland, and always wanted to believe the best about her. I hated Mel Torme when he wrote a book about her, which was tame in comparasion to "Mommie Dearest" I've since learned that no matter how talented they were, they were not infallable. And no matter how infallable they were, it can never take away how talented they were! What happened at home with Joan and Christina had nothing to do with the great actress that Joan Crawford was!

Rachel posts on 12/19/2008 7:29:41 PM Go back to my pigsty? Why? because I love Joan Crawford.
Anonymous posts on 12/18/2008 3:05:39 PM Who cares anyway? Go back to your pigsty!
Rachel posts on 12/16/2008 9:55:06 AM Yes we are going to protect her. Because sadly she's gone and someone has to do it. And the person who said that why don't you say your name? Unless your the witch Christina herself!!!!1
Anonymous posts on 12/7/2008 11:50:47 AM Well that says it all doesn't it. Fans of Joans are going to protect her, now aren't they, no matter what Chrstina said
Rachel posts on 12/1/2008 9:31:53 AM I don't believe a word christina said. I'm a huge Joan fan. Everytime I see a picture of them two together she looked so happy with her mom. Either everything was o.k. with christina or she was an excellent acctress, if so why didn't she make it in the acting world?
Duncan Hill posts on 11/28/2008 4:49:44 PM I just watched a show last night on Turner Classic Movies on the life of Joan Crawford with Christina Crawford doing a lot of commentary. I hope Christina reads this as we have an interesting connection. My heart goes out to you & I haven't even read Mommy Dearest. Your mother worked with my grandfather in the movie Mildred Pierce at Warner Brothers. Both received great recognition for their work on the movie. My grandfather, Michael Curtiz was the director. I gather your mom was some times difficult to work with. Well Michael Curtiz was pretty much feared and ruthless in Hollywood but together those two made a masterpiece. My mother's relationship with her dad too was deplorable but in a different way, and she was not even recognized in Michael's Will! We spent some time with Michael at Paramount before he died in 1962. He was very nice to us. It would be great to get an email from you if possible. Also my sister who just died was named Christina. best in life Duncan
