A Christmas Carol (1984) Message Board

PJ posts a message on 1/9/2006 10:04:20 PM You are very welcome. I have wanted those lyrics since I first saw the movie. I do not know why other emails to Nick Bicat were not answered. In his email to me he explained that he had been extremely busy on new projects. He also mentioned that a CD of the film score will be available. Sometime this year, I think. I hope soon. Happy New Year all!
Michael posts a message on 1/9/2006 7:25:57 PM Thanks for the mail! And thank you for posting for all others to see. The words are biting and significant. They are inspiring. Now, if we could only get a copy of the music score...But I am thriled. Thank you again, and Happy New Year.
Paul Chandler posts a message on 1/9/2006 6:28:56 PM I loved both Kent La Rue's interpretation of the words and PJ's from the actual score and saved both. All agree it's a lovely Christmas Song, right?

Paul Chandler posts a message on 1/4/2006 11:51:30 PM Why did Tony Bicat not reveal the words for so long? ManyIincluding me) tried and he never replied. Does it involve the movie's copyright?
Kent La Rue posts a message on 1/1/2006 2:52:39 PM Well, thanks for clearing up the text. Merry, Christmas to all, indeed. Kent La Rue
PJ posts a message on 12/26/2005 5:58:22 PM Well I guess you can't email me. I tried to post my email address but, it wouldn't let me. So, here are the lyrics. I hope this will post. I have been having trouble posting. GOD BLESS US EVERYONE The past of man is cold as ice He would not mend his ways He strove for silver in his heart And gold in all his days His reason weak his anger sharp And sorrow all his pay He went to church but once a year And that was Christmas Day So grant us all a change of heart Rejoice for Mary's son Pray peace on earth to all mankind God bless us everyone The present man is full of flame He rushes here and there He turns away the orphan child The widow in her chair He eats for ten he drinks for twelve Forgets how brief his stay And stands a jingling of his change In church on Christmas Day So grant us all a change of heart Rejoice for Mary's son Pray peace on earth to all mankind God bless us everyone The man to come we do not know May he make peace on earth And live the glory of the Word The message of the birth And gather all the children in To banish their dismay Lift up his heart among the bells In church on Christmas day So grant us all a change of heart Rejoice for Mary's son Pray peace on earth to all mankind God bless us everyone. Lyrics: Tony Bicāt - Music: Nick Bicāt ©1984
PJ posts a message on 12/26/2005 5:53:23 PM Some of your lyrics are right and some are wrong. Again, anyone can email me for them.
Paul Chandler posts a message on 12/25/2005 12:12:30 AM That same song was used in a 2004 re-make? I put this message as a P.S. It is 11 Minutes Into Christmas day: "Merry Christmas To All...And God Bless Us All, Everyone" as Anthony Walters says it in the movie(the little actor who lost one lower baby tooth who played Tiny Tim...now an adult in his 20's? Wow, how time flies!!). And A Happy 2006, too!!!
Paul Chandler posts a message on 12/25/2005 12:09:05 AM I listened to the singing..which is off and on during the 1984 Geo. C. Scott movie. I think instead of "beys" it is "days" and in the chorus it's: So grant us all a change of heart rejoice, be merrisome. And peace on earth to all mankind, God bless us, everyone. If someone DOES have the actual words I'd love to see them but I think the words already printed on this website are 98% on the mark. I recorded onto a cassette tape the song from the final credits and have sung along to the words as I ride in my car. It's sad the composer hasn't recorded the song on its own away from the movie.GOD BLESS US, EVERYONE and that "Merry Christmas...Merry Christmas.." sung by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra both make me teary-eyed...cholked up when I hear them. They really "intoxicate" you with the Christmas Spirit.
PJ posts a message on 12/24/2005 8:07:28 PM Those are not the lyrics to the 1984 TV version of the movie with George C. Scott. I wrote to the composer who sent me the actual lyrics from the movie.
