Dara Joy Message Board

Pamme posts on 11/8/2006 7:04:31 PM I found Wildcat Arrows to be totally 110 degrees different than what I had come to expect from a Dara Joy book. The writing style/quality in no way reflected her earlier books. This opinion was shared by my coworkers. I read a lot of books both personally and professionally and there is nothing kind to say about this book. It was not worth the price, the aggravation or the wait. I took the book to work (after waiting months upon months for it..)and left it in the breakroom for others to share. It's never absent over 2 days and without exception, it has had bad reviews from every staff person to read it upon its returned. Blue, I know I've seen your nickname on Daras msg boards many times and I realize you are a loyal and devoted Dara fan. I was one once too until I realized I sure wasn't being treated like a loyal & devoted fan. And after all I paid and all I went through to get this book, I would have much rather had someone tell me the upfront truth about it than be sick realizing I had been snookered in more ways than one. I've yet to see one good comment about the book. By all means, if people don't mind gambling, first they can take a chance as to whether or not they will actually receive the book after they pay for it (many still have not received their paid for copy)and then they can gamble as to whether or not this many people can be wrong about the books bad reviews. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I sincerely hope you enjoyed your copy more than I (we) did mine. My opinion is look for future books of Daras on a store shelf so you can check out the quality before buying AND you can have the book for certain in your hand when you hand over your hard earned money. Do not send money for a future book on faith. The slot machines in vegas have a higher ratio of payoff.
Brenda posts on 11/8/2006 9:46:37 AM Blue, I realize that you are a loyal Dara Fan. I think everybody on this site was also. They would not have purchased the book otherwise. I would love to see Dara write quality books again. And I do hope whatever personal problems she may be having are worked out. We are all just venting our frustrations. This is a forum for talking about books and voicing opinions. Unfortunatly, most people on this forum seem to be very disappointed in Wildcat Arrow and the way the distribution of the books was handled. I agree that people should read any book before forming an opinion. If you liked the book and had no trouble receiving it, please post here also. It would be nice to know if somebody was happy.
Blue posts on 11/7/2006 4:02:33 AM hello, though i understand that the wait for Wildcat Arrows has been long, i think it would only be fair to let those who have not received their books yet to read it on their own and be able to make their own judgements about it rather than being told by others that it's a bad book and spoiling it for them before they even get a chance to read it.

cayla posts on 11/6/2006 12:49:42 PM Kristen, Mentioning contacting the MA Attorney General and giving him a set in stone deadline seems to work best. It also appears that once he gives a tracking number, the book usually is shipped. Now if you think trying to get the book was a terrible experience, just wait until you try to read the book.
lee posts on 11/5/2006 11:59:48 PM hi, just wondering if there is a book out on this character, he sounds promising.
Kristen posts on 11/1/2006 9:52:49 AM Hello All - I'm so happy I've stumbled across this site! I too thought I might be the only one who had not received this book. I have written Cory four emails over the last six months asking him to either give me a date for when the book will be sent or a tracking number, or a refund of my money. He responded only once, in June, stating that "the books are shipping," and that he would "look into" when mine would be shipped. I've never heard anything since. I today wrote him a final email stating that if he did not immediately respond, I would be looking into taking more formal action. I'm not truthfully very hopeful that I'll ever see either the book or my money back. Kristen
Brenda posts on 10/31/2006 1:53:03 PM I don't think they are going to post anything on there board about the problems they are having. They are going to want to only post happy things so people will buy more books. But they could at least send out an appolgy.
Gilly posts on 10/31/2006 10:34:37 AM Oh, I know somebody is only going to post positive messages on their board - but it makes you wonder how many negative have not made it. Also, if negatives are coming in - you would have thought (hoped) that there would be some kind of statement on the board from her about the situation.
Deborah posts on 10/30/2006 6:52:40 PM Thanks to all of you, I sent an email saying I was contacting the BBB and Attorney General if I did not receive a refund. Lo and behold, I received a response from Cory today saying that it was shipped on the 29th (which was yesterday Sunday) and gave me a tracking number. Is this another delay tactic? Does anyone really know what happened with Kensington?
Brenda posts on 10/30/2006 12:49:44 PM Yes, I did notice that there were only good comments on Dara's web site. I would think that most people would not post the bad stuff on their own web site if they are still trying to sell something. What does get me is that there are no Good postings for Wildcat Arrows. I guess nobody liked the book.
