David Hackett Fischer Message Board

keith howard posts on 3/24/2005 10:06:15 AM Dr. Fischer, I was enthralled and recommended your book of Albion's Seed over and over to people to help clearify the folkways in which we are only a few generations away from learning. I am of English descent and was eager to see you carry this through a book you promised called possibly "Planations?" of which you will cover African's contribution to the melting pot. I would love to see this carried through as it would be the best race relations class to convey to our republic. It will further show how the hispanic community will also contribute on this experiment calles the United States of free people. Thank You- Keith Howard. ( I've read all your books-all great!!)
Diane White posts on 2/17/2005 8:18:35 PM Dear Dr. Fischer: I very much enjoyed reading your latest book, Washington's Crossing. I love to read books about American history, and I hope that you will consider writing other books about the Revolutionary War. From what I can see working at a large public library, there is a renewed interest now in books relating to the early days of our country. Thank you for writing such a good book. Sincerely, Diane
Eric Kocher posts on 2/13/2005 11:29:07 PM Was wondering what relationship if any David Hackett Fischer might be to the David Hackett, friend of Bobby Kennedy and model for Phineas in A Separate Peace by John Knowles.
