Night Wisp posts on 12/21/2006 12:13:00 PM As long as humans live on this earth, there will always be abuse, whether it's physical, verbal, mental, or all three. It is the sad truth. We can decrease it by spreading awareness, but it cannot be completely eradicated.

Audrey posts on 12/10/2006 10:02:01 PM Dave, iam so sorry of what happend. If i was there during your childhood i wouldve saved you, no child deserves to be abused. iam trying to stop abusement, after i read the pain you had to go through.
BJ posts on 11/18/2006 10:41:23 AM I thank you David for helping me recongnize this abuse. I seen it starting to happen in my own family and pulled this child out of the situation. Taking food away for another little member and hearing about him telling a stranger how he was starving. Mom's like this exaggerate the about about the amount of food this child has already had. He hasn't eaten and she says he had 2,3 or 4 sandwiches already. No he didn't. I thank you from the bottom of my heart, because I told the social worker that it wasn't safe for him to go home. Thanks again!!
Donney posts on 11/17/2006 4:31:36 PM I loved these books, even though they are so sad. He was so courageous.

Stephanie posts on 11/9/2006 8:45:02 AM I have read all David's books, and was filled with such impact and brutel honesty from each. I suggested to my boyfriend who normally hates any book to read it and he also couldnt put it down! I belive he is an exceptional man and should carry with him an invisable badge of honor. He has been through so much at such a tender age and deserves every happiness. I cant even imagine the great loss he must feel in so many ways. I dont understand why so many people do not belive what he is saying to be the truth!! It is totally behond me. Trying to remember the tiniest details of a childhood filled with lack of effection and care would be hard for anyone, details get missed and stories are told differently, of course they will be! It seems that everyone has got critism and lack of belief, no one can recall such memories easily, and as for exageration - some issues are indescribable and you cannot put words to them! I truly belive this book was written for his own self relief and in order to inform people of the serious physical and emotional abuse that went on and still continues today. You are a truly remarkable person and my every kindness goes to both you and your family, Stephanie Heal xxxx
Rachel posts on 11/2/2006 4:57:47 PM Dave, you are so inspiring to people with your stories you have shared. I have only read the first book and after that I realize I am really lucky to have a caring and loving mother. I know with all that fame you have you would probably have traded it any day just to have a mom that cared and loved you, but this book might have a few consequences. Where do you think your mom got some of those cruel ideas to punish you? I remember in some part of the book you even said that she read them from somewhere. What if there is a child abuse out there somewhere and abusive mothers are reading this book for more cruel ideas. But besides that, this was the most inspiring book I've ever read.
Jessica posts on 10/31/2006 10:40:00 PM I read this book wihtin like 2 days i couldnt put it down! Its horrible to think that abuse like this actually goes on in this world and is left unattended for so long. I can only imagine the hurt and lonliness dave must have felt. And to know that dave or his brothers probably at first didnt know any better because a mother is a role model of love and compassion. I think that Dave is unbelievably brave and has so much courage. And a big thank you to people that Foster in children so they can escape families that give out this type of abuse. All the best Dave with your family and future.
