sugeebas posts on 6/23/2013 6:16:30 PM Dear Annie and family, my thoughts are with you at this terrible time of grief. Losing Deric is like losing a dearly beloved family member, for through his books your family integrated with ours. We all loved him, not only for his humour but also as a wonderful, sympathetic human being. He was one in a million and will be dreadfully missed by us all. Deric is at peace and as someone previously wrote, he will have a special place in heaven. My love goes out to you all, Bless you love Susan
Liz from Buxton posts on 6/23/2013 6:02:10 PM What a shock, but now our dearest Deric can't suffer any more. Thank you for letting us know in the midst of your grief, Annie. Please tell Aileen that she will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Carolyn Smith posts on 6/23/2013 5:57:37 PM My very deepest sympathies to the whole family. I first read Deric's books many years ago and I was a great admirer. He was one person I would really love to have met. Apart from our shared love of animals, Deric was a wonderful human being, someone I have long held in my heart. Sorry if this isn't coming out very well. It's so hard to know what to say in the face of such a great loss. God bless you Deric. I know he has a special place reserved for you.
Sheila posts on 6/23/2013 5:55:59 PM I am so sorry to hear this. Please note that Deric had fans the world over (I'm from New York) and not many writers can say that. Deric's stories brought me many good times and I will always think of him.
Annie Q posts on 6/23/2013 5:42:17 PM Sorry to have to tell you that Deric passed away this morning after a brave battle with throat cancer. Thank you for your loyalty and superb support which has always given Deric so much pleasure.
Robin and Maz posts on 6/23/2013 5:35:17 PM Thank you Annie for letting us all know this terribly sad news. We do hope that it is some consolation to you to know how much Deric was loved by so many and will continue to do so. He gave us all a wonderful gift in his books and musings and we will continue to laugh and cry as we read them again and again. Thanks also for making that easier with Deric's website and Kindle books. Our thoughts and wishes go to Aileen, all Deric's and Aileen's children including yourself and grandchildren Bless you all Maz and Robin X
