I was devastated to hear of Deric's passing. My heart goes out to his family. I do hope this forum will continue in Deric's memory. At least he will live on in his books and for all of us who enjoys reading and re-reading them. God bless Deric, sleep well,love Karen xxxx

Just looked in on the board after quite a long time. I'm absolutely shattered to read the sad news of the loss of Deric. I had spoken on the phone with him some considerable time ago and can't count the times I've read his wonderful books. A wonderful man who will be so sadly missed by many. My sincere condolences to Aileen and the family. God Bless.

So sorry to hear about Deric. I've read all of his books many times over and always recommend them to everybody... such a massive loss, especially for his family. My Mum regularly has lots of cats moving into her house and we've loved reading his books over the years...I'm going to read them over again! RIP

Very sad to hear derec died this year
I've just re read Diana's story for the 5 th time
And thought I'd look on line see how he was doing, his books have given me a boost in coping with my M.E. and the beautiful letter I received from him will always be treasured by me,

Hello there, still thinking about you, Aileen and family but feeling a little closer to you as I re-read Deric's wonderful books. Jocelyn, your book 'The Quarry Cats' arrived this morning. Well done! I have only just seen this news. My heart goes out to Deric's family. I was introduced to his books as a teenager, and now in my late twenties have a network of the well thumbed books out with family and friends. I have never laughed or cried with a book so much as I did with Diana's Story. This may seem presumptuous but I felt like I knew Deric and his family in a way, because of his wonderful writing. Sad news indeed.

Tonight I met a wonderful group of women belonging to a writer's club from Evergreen, Colorado. Of course I told them of my favorite writer who we just lost in June, and I expect Deric's books will be in high demand as a new group of fans emerge. Regards to all Deric Devotees old and new. Love, Jan
