Kassandra Dotson posts on 10/19/2006 5:43:51 AM I have been awaiting each book in the 'The Witch of Two Suns' series since the first time I picked up 'Mother Ocean, Daughter Sea'. I am now in northern Iraq with my army unit and I was hoping that there would be a fourth installment in the series. I realize that, to the publishers, this is just a fantasy series, but sometimes that can be more real than what is going on around you. I hope you can find a way to get this beautiful story published - and when you do I will be waiting. Thank you, for bringing a series with such beauty and strength to life for so many people, myself included.
posts on 9/18/2006 12:31:19 AM I can't believe that the fourth book is on hold. I just finished book two and three. Three I actually read today and yes, I read the entire book in one day. Now I have to wait to find out what happens. Hope you find a another publisher soon. I enjoy your writing very much.
posts on 9/5/2006 11:20:54 AM I read hundreds of books a year, I thought your series was very good. I did not care for the part when the witch lost her memory and became "Silly". I went online to order the next book, and was upset that an author with your abilty to weave a good story can't get it published. I would be willing to purchase a copy that was a self published or an ebook. Please let us know what the status of the series is. Don't let the experince with TOR stop you from writing. I await the next book.

posts on 8/7/2006 9:39:34 PM Dear Diana, I sit here writing this post after finishing your third installment in the witch of two suns series, and am greatly saddened. I was close to the end of it when I realized that there was no way it could end in the scant amoumt of pages I had left. So, as soon as I finished, I rushed to the library to see if you had a fourth one forthcoming,(pun intended!). After finding this site and reading its posts, I was even more upset to learn that TOR had dropped you. I urge you to keep searching for a publisher, as your books have certainatly brought me joy. Best wishes for your future success!
posts on 7/16/2006 11:40:02 PM I am a voracious reader and have many times found myself bored after a short amount of storyline. It has always seemed 'canned' or contrived. Your Bri books have renewed my optimism that there are intelligent writers out there who know what to do with a strong female lead character in a sci-fi/fantasy genre. I have been captivated and entranced by not only your magnificent prose, but also how successfully you weave a storyline that maintains several characters and activities while remaining compelling. I'm horrified to hear of your publishing difficulties. I'm distraught at not knowing the outcome of these books. Finally, thank you so much for the hours of enjoyment I've thus far had with these books and of the many to come as I'm sure these will be well-worn with repeated reading.
posts on 7/14/2006 5:44:42 PM Dear Diana; As a voracious reader of many genres of books I am saddend to learn the 4th book is on hold! Your work is fresh and adictive! I hold out for "HOPE" (like your characters) and "BELIEVE" that your books will again grace the shelves of stores, and when they do I will line up to buy the 1st one! Warm regards, Theresa
posts on 6/13/2006 6:32:53 AM Dear Diana, Have you thought of publishing future installments of the Brierley series as online e-books? Given the views expressed in this forum, I'm sure fans would pay something to be able to download more of the story! I for one was gutted to find out a week or two ago that the story is on hold indefinitely - I have so many questions! Just a thought, that was all...
posts on 6/2/2006 7:59:01 PM Iam forteen and i can't wait for ur forth book comes out so i can read it i have read all the other ones and am really looking forward to reading the next
posts on 5/21/2006 12:18:11 PM Dear Diana, I am very sorry to hear that we will have to wait for your fourth book. I believe that eventually it will be published. I would like to offer some positive criticism about editing your work. I am very hard to please and rarely read anything on the shelf because most writting is poor and copies others. YOUR WORK IS ORIGINAL. And when you write about the events occuring to your characters, you capture my attention. BUT you must insist on cutting their inner thoughts down by at least half, preferrably by two thirds. People struggling through cultural conflict, prejudice, and life threatening violence just do not sit around philosophizing for hours on end about every detail that has occured in their lives. But even more importantly, having several characters constantly review past historical events is very BORING. The endless droning on and on by each character of their inner thoughts over the same past events really knocked the wind out of your sails. Look at the Da Vinci Code, it is terribly written but the action is great, unpredictable, and educational. The greater benefit of editing down the inner voices of your characters would be that your plot could have been much further along. You could have finished the series in three books, at least to the point of being involved in the actual war...and this would have appealed to more men (greater readers of sci fi). I think it is a shame that you have to shift to romance and lose the sc fantasy market. But is does make sense to move towards women as your demographic. I hope you have written the fourth book and wish you the best of luck because you deserve it.
