Diane Mott Davidson Message Board

Trish posts on 12/16/2009 8:11:28 PM I really enjoyed Ms. Davidson's first couple of books and then laid off them for a while. within the last month I have finished (with difficulty) "Dark Tort" and "Fatally Flaky" I know these are considered light reading mysteries but I must admit that Goldy Shultz is rather getting on my nerves. First I can't believe that after putting up with the Jerk for years, she now puts up with Jerk Jr. whose behavior is not exactly what I would deem typical teen behavior. She is totally without common sense and acts in such a passive aggressive manner, that I am not surprised she lets her clients slap her around and verbally abuse her...does she need the business that badly??? and why, after she falls off a cliff, gets clobbered over the head, and smashes up her best friends Cadillac, all in the same day, does she not atleast seek medical attention?? But Nooooo, she gets right back up dusts off her knees, goes home and starts making dinner for 16 people, not to mention getting ready for tomorrows catering job. I do not usually waste my time writing reviews, but I have to say that Ms. Davidson's heroine Goldy Shultz is "Not just right" in fact you'd have to be out of your mind to hire her for any catering event given the number of dead bodies that frequently show up...isn't anyone in Aspen Meadows asking these simple questions? Ms. Davidson your novels although considered light reading, are simply not believable in the least. Trish from Connecticut
Sue posts on 7/7/2009 9:20:26 PM I just finished Tough Cookie and I believe I'm going to give up. The only reason I read this many,is I was hoping the Jerk and Arch would both get put in their place. She's such a weak person It's hard to see her solving crimes and being tough to the bad guys when she should stay home for a week and whip Arch into shape. The rude, inconsiderate, ungrateful little mini-jerk. It's not "typical teenage behavior." As for the Jerk. . . the guy's in jail, and he's still getting at her. Tom's a cop. Borrow his gun.
Sylvia Franklin posts on 6/27/2009 2:10:32 PM Diane, Read and love ALL your books and reciepes in them. Do you have an actual cookbook printed & for sale? Also would be helpful what can be frozen and or made in advance. Can never put your books down, almost read the in one sitting. Thanks for everything. Sylvia
