Pat Stribling posts on 9/17/2005 10:35:14 PM The first book about Turning was a jewel, but the second one was "dark" and much less fun. Personally, I didn't give a hoot about the master criminal, he had far too much space in the book. As for the "little sister" stuff, it could also have been downplayed, or just mentioned now and then as a continuing mystery. The bird books by Andrews are a joy to read, I loved the Parrot book most. But I do hope to see more of Turning..and she should have more of the box boy type in charge of the company. Turning and the older secretary should help more in the boy's hobby, the detective agency that he had started. I see him as being more like the "little buddy" in the Gilligan's Island series. That would add to the mysterys, trying to help his inflated ego and still keeping him legal. Pat S.

Book Worm posts on 1/22/2005 1:51:43 PM Donna Andrews is an absolutely AMAZING writer! I've read two of her books and was enthralled. I've read them in a series and it's great how they pick up one after the other. But if you start in the middle of the series, you're not missing too much. Not saying that you shouldn't read them all but you can start in the middle of the series and still understand. I love the books and I'm hooked! Sincerely yours, the addicted reader.
