I actually shed a tear when Keefe allowed his mother to comfort Mia in her time of distress. Just reading the "motherly" advice she gave, understanding how and why he felt the way he did about her really tore my heart apart. I did not know when I first started reading the book if I was going to like it, but I must say that I really got into it before it ended.
